We use the word “tactics” in the title because one must be tactful and not emotional when using social media for business exposure and growth.
Social media in its very design is a picker and poker of vanity metrics and the desire for “fame.”
Did you know there are more than 7 billion “social media” users?
Did you know a 14-year-old kid from Cincinnati has more followers than you?
Get over it.
If you are running a business the secret to social media is 1. positioning, and 2. positioning.

What do we mean by positioning? It is emphasized to bring intent into the context of the conversation. Positioning here is a multi-dimensional statement, (or, tactics.)
There are three main reasons for positioning your business on social media and there are many social media platforms to pick from.

Common sense for different social media platforms:

Be fun on Instagram. I mean, it is “The Gram”. And by fun, we mean as casual and exciting as you can go with the intent of your content. The more fun and exciting, the better when it comes to Instagram.
For Linkedin don’t be scared to show your company’s fun side but also always remember to position yourself as an expert business with high performing processes. Visual with text captions.
And Facebook… Well, be universal and general here. General branding and dialogue will be enough backbone to position the ads you run on the backend of the Facebook business manager, and that is most important.
There are more social media platforms we can talk about but the breakdown of these three should be enough to give you an idea of what content intent you have with each platform. Reminiscent of the saying “When in Rome act as Romans do.”

Let us begin with positioning on social media as an advertising backbone.
What does that mean? It means all it has to do is hold you up properly when your ads are reaching the curious minds of your consumer and they decide to look further into your profiles. If you make sure you have enough social proof and presence on your social media posts then your advertisements will be well accompanied, and your consumer will feel more comfortable about your business. Comfort =trust= sales.
Positioning as your B2B portfolio is just a presentation to your clients that you are aware and proactive in business. It shows you are not blind to the reality of a social media presence and it shows you know what is important in business in the 2020 era.
And of course last but not least.
Positioning on social media TO BE A REACHABLE BRAND. People want to feel like you exist and if you are not on social media they will feel like you do not exist. That is a problem. Position yourself, become reachable, and you will become profitable.

A well-defined work process can help with the underutilized time that may be spent staring at your beautiful screen but a positive mind can give you RESULTS. Why a positive mind? Well… it’s like the energy drink Redbull, it gives you wings! Wings that do not subside after 15 or 30 minutes but wings that allow you to see a world of possibilities and the smallest of details that can make the world of difference.

So the question is how do we find positivity in our mental attitudes when we are constantly under pressure to become Bill Gates?

The following steps have proven to advance a positive mind for positive results!;

1. Connect your Purpose to your drive.

Why are you coding? Why are you even reading this article? There has to be a reason why you are doing what you are doing and that reason has to hold some weight internally! So, when you stand in front of your computer ready to embark in your conquest you dream of the result and two hours later your about 2000 hours of code away… Now what? feeling motivated? Of course not. That is when your purpose comes to the rescue. Whether it is your child or a lifelong pursuit, it must mean more than money to you.

2. Repetition.

It is only through repetition that we could have learned the concepts we have learned as adults. It is no different with a positive mind. We must repeat positive affirmations (e.g “I am capable, I am capable”) almost on autopilot in frequency. This has been proven in athletes and professionals across the world. Of course, it will work for you as well!

3. Accountability/Faith (oh great another task).

Yes, a positive mind is a task. Especially when you do not want to make the effort. It is one of those tasks that require real constant effort, to the point of illusion. Why an illusion? Well, imagine being a baby trying to open a milk carton, it may seem that your baby hands cannot possibly open this milk carton and that your grip and efforts are pointless. What you did not see is the threads on the inside of the cap starting to loosen and get closer to an opening point. So with a little more illusional faith, you can break the cap from the hold the thread has to the carton and witness the miracle of a baby opening a milk carton! (figuratively speaking that is you finishing a code or a task that you never thought possible!)

It is said through many faiths and cultures that a positive mind can move mountains. But how positive must one be to move a mountain?! It does not matter, nor could you weigh or measure positivity and its benefits in a single formula. It is a matter of applying those three steps up there (yes the ones in this article) and realizing this is a lifetime of work that only a positive mind can help you bear and conquer. So it is a choice. Live with a positive mind and climb further than you can imagine, or live without a positive mind and climb. The difference in the effort will amaze you.
